The TreeChurch is a church made of living trees set in beautiful gardens in Ohaupo, New Zealand.

The TreeChurch is open to the general public on Sundays, from 10 to 4pm, from Sunday, 26 October 2025 to Sunday 26 April 2026.
Each year on Mothers’ Day Sunday in May we are open for an Autumn Garden Ramble.
We are closed for garden visits during the winter.

The TreeChurch and Gardens can be booked for small funerals, memorials, naming ceremonies, arts events and other formal events. Contact us to enquire about a booking.
If you have an idea for some other special event in the TreeChurch and Gardens, contact us. We are keen to hear your ideas.

For light rain, we have umbrellas available. We also have a large area under cover in the gardens, The Sails, and a beautiful indoor venue, The Gantry, on site.
However, we will also be flexible with time on the day of your special occasion, so that whenever possible, you can use the TreeChurch.

There is no food available for sale on Sunday open days. You are very welcome to bring a picnic - it’s an ideal place to relax with a picnic! There are tables and chairs available.
For booked group tours, catering can be arranged by asking us about it when you book the tour. You are also welcome to bring in your own catering.
For formal events, you are able to bring in your own caterers and drinks.

Yes! You’re very welcome to take photos during your visit and we’d love to see them—feel free to tag us on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok.
If you’re interested in a dedicated photo shoot, you can book exclusive access to the gardens.
Please note: wedding photoshoots are reserved for weddings taking place at the TreeChurch. Contact us to enquire.

There is accessible parking via gate 2, at 135 West Road. The vast majority of the gardens are accessible, if you are comfortable to move around on lawns and fine gravel walkways. The TreeChurch itself, The Gantry and the Sails area all have very good accessibility. There are accessible bathrooms on site. Assistance dogs are welcome.
